About the role
The FOIA Paralegal will provide legal research, document review, and administrative support to ensure compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analyze documents related to FOIA requests.
- Prepare and maintain records of FOIA requests and responses.
- Respond to FOIA requests in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with attorneys and other legal staff to ensure timely and accurate responses.
- Assist in the preparation of legal pleadings and other documents as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in law, political science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in legal research and document review.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Admitted to practice law in at least one state.
- Experience with FOIA and federal regulations.
- Familiarity with legal research databases and software.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of FOIA and federal regulations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
