About the role
The Food Production Specialist 1 supports the Dietary Director by performing various food service duties, including tray assembly, transport of food carts, delivery of trays, and returning to and from patient care units. This role also involves ware washing for both retail and patient services, such as flatware, china, glassware, and kitchen pots/pans. Additionally, this individual is responsible for emptying tray carts in the cafeteria and performing sanitation tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assists with tray assembly, transport of food carts, delivery of trays, and return to and from patient care units.
- Responsible for all ware washing for retail and patient services, including flatware, china, glassware, and kitchen pots/pans.
- Responsible for emptying tray carts in the cafeteria.
- Performs sanitation tasks in the department as assigned, including trash removal.
- Maintains high standards of food and physical safety, sanitation, and the daily use and care of equipment and tools.
- Fulfills proper labeling, rotation, and quality control practices.
- May be cross-trained on other duties within the food service department.
- Works independently with minimal supervision, adhering to posted work schedules, payroll procedures, and attendance guidelines.
- May work flexible hours, days off, and overtime as required by operational workload.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor, complying with current department standards and policies.
- Promotes teamwork and acts as a positive role model for fellow team members.
- Works efficiently under strict time deadlines.
- May assist in other areas as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
