About the role

The successful candidate will manage FM Approvals technical staff to ensure effective examination and testing of electrical equipment for use in hazardous locations on a worldwide basis. Provide these products and services in a manner that is responsive to FM and the customer’s need. Support FM through risk service testing. Support manager in identifying business opportunities to grow the business while maintaining leadership, recognition and credibility in relevant technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage FM Approvals technical staff to ensure effective examination and testing of electrical equipment for use in hazardous locations on a worldwide basis.
  • Provide these products and services in a manner that is responsive to FM and the customer’s need.
  • Support FM through risk service testing.
  • Support manager in identifying business opportunities to grow the business while maintaining leadership, recognition and credibility in relevant technologies.

Requirements

  • Prior familiarity with design/performance standards for electrical equipment for use in hazardous locations (e.g. FM Approvals, ANSI, IEC, EN, and CSA Standards) and installation standards (e.g. National Electrical Codes) is desired.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential due to frequent client interface.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • At least 8 to 10+ years’ experience in the following areas: Electrical equipment for use in hazardous locations.
  • Project management (personnel, tasks, budget, schedule), including familiarity with computerized tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical teams.

Skills

  • Familiarity with design/performance standards for electrical equipment for use in hazardous locations (e.g. FM Approvals, ANSI, IEC, EN, and CSA Standards) and installation standards (e.g. National Electrical Codes).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Schedule

This position will require approximately 5-10% domestic and overseas travel.
