Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the design, development, test, and integration of fluid conveyance systems such as fuel, oil, cooling and pneumatic for remotely piloted aircraft.
- Conceptualize and articulate innovative solutions to highly technical and complex engineering problems, including strategic objectives and timing.
- Provide leadership, direction, and guidance for research into the solution of engineering problems.
- Provide manufacturing and field service support by acting as a subject matter expert for the fluid systems and associated components on the aircraft.
- Interact with senior level internal and external personnel on technical matters requiring coordination between organizations.
- Prepare and present design reviews and other technical materials for executive management.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Will work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree.
- May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Direct experience with aircraft propulsion systems and associated fluid conveyance systems.
- Working knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, aircraft utility functions, and propulsion systems.
- Understanding military standards, specs, and configuration control.
- Customer focused; development of innovative new designs and solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Experience with FAR, EASA, or other airworthiness certification.
- Familiarity with CAD modeling (Unigraphics NX), and drafting.
- Familiarity with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and tolerance stack up methodology.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance is required.
