FLORAL/CLERK

About the role

Assist in the design and/or merchandising of floral items and arrangements for display/sale or in response to customer requests. Provide various customer services.

Responsibilities

• Absorb and greet customers promptly and provide them with great service
• Promptly, tactfully, calmly, courteously, and professionally interact with customers
• Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fulfill customer orders
• Package orders effectively, safely, and efficiently
• Maintain customer records and files properly
• Aid customers in locating and selecting items
• Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously
• Aid in decorating and merchandising the department
• Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and maintain them well
• Keep floors, clean, safe, and free from clutter
• Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements and fill balloons
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and proper space allocation for merchandise
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable
• Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed

Qualifications

• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills
• Reads shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins
• Multi-tasks, sets priorities, presents information in a professional manner, and works with all levels of the organization
• Displays personal initiative and follow-through to completion
• Works as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Has knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, and safety
• Has past work record reflecting dependability and integrity
• Has experience in grocery retail and customer service
• Has experience operating a cash register and making change
