FLORAL/CLERK
About the role
Assist in the design and/or merchandising of floral items and arrangements for display/sale or in response to customer requests. Provide various customer services.
Responsibilities
- Absorb and greet customers promptly and provide them with great service
- Promptly, tactfully, calmly, courteously, and professionally interact with customers
- Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders
- Package orders effectively, safely, and efficiently
- Maintain customer records and files properly
- Aid customers in locating and selecting items
- Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously
- Aid in decorating and merchandising the department
- Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and maintain a well-organized state
- Maintain floors, keep them clean, safe, and clutter-free
- Take care of plants, process and prepare flower arrangements and fill balloons
- Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and proper space allocation for merchandise
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws
- Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable
- Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
Qualifications
- Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills
- Reads shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins
- Multi-tasks, sets priorities, presents information in a professional manner, and works with all levels of the organization
- Displays personal initiative and follow-through to completion
- Works as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Has abilities and skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer services related to sale of merchandise
- Able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate all production equipment

- Past work record reflects dependability and integrity
- Knows applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, and safety
- Experience in grocery retail and customer service
- Experience in operating a cash register and making change
