FLORAL/CLERK

Responsibilities

• Absorb and greet customers promptly and provide them with great service
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions
• Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders
• Pack orders effectively, safely, and efficiently
• Maintain customer records and files properly
• Aid customers in locating and selecting items
• Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously
• Assist in decorating and merchandising the department
• Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized
• Maintain floors, keep them clean, safe, and free from clutter
• Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements and fill balloons
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and proper space allocation for merchandise
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable
• Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed

Qualifications

• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills
• Reads shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins
• Multi-tasks, sets priorities, presents information in a professional manner, and works with all levels of the organization
• Displays personal initiative and follow-through to completion
• Works as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Has knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, and safety
• Has past work record reflecting dependability and integrity
• Desired: Experience in grocery retail and customer service
• Desired: Experience in operating a cash register and making change
