Essential Functions
- Demonstrate knowledge with floral designs
- Understand art, style and the use of color to create beautiful arrangements
- Aid in preparation of flowers and creation of arrangements for special events
- Aid in inventory management
- Maintain professional etiquette with all guests and employees
- Be knowledgeable of all hotel services, hotel features, local attractions and history of the Inn, and be able to speak to these when guest inquires
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of work areas
- Review the floral report to determine the quantity of floral arrangements needed
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety regulations
- Stock and maintain workspace
- Attend meetings as required
- Complete all assigned projects by the florist
Qualifications
- 6 months to 1 year of Floral experience
- Must be able to work weekends and have a flexible work schedule, including holidays
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos
Desirable
- Familiarity with Forbes Standards
- Ability to communicate with a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French
- Prior experienced working in a 4 or 5 star luxury property
Skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a close team environment
- Ability to use standard floral equipment
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to speak using clear and professional language
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed
- Must always be compliant with quality assurance expectations and standards
- Ability to complete assigned work in a timely manner
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift 30+ lbs
- Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting and climbing
