About the role

Global Connections to Employment (GCE) is a nationwide team providing jobs for people with significant disabilities, including war-wounded veterans. The Floor Technician is responsible for safely performing floor care duties as assigned by management. Quality service is expected to be provided to customers at all times. This position requires knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job. This role is for the Night Shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care duties as assigned by management.
  • Provide quality service to customers at all times.
  • Follow multi-step directions accurately.
  • Interact appropriately with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends and overtime (OT).
  • Perform essential functions safely, including bending, crouching, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching above head, sitting (to drive), and lifting up to 40 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds).
  • Follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements.
  • Travel to and from various locations and buildings in various weather conditions.
  • Work with cleaning chemicals as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in floor care or pass the GCE Floor Care Certification Training within the first 90 days.
  • Ability to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings, as appropriate.
  • Schedules are subject to change and may require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive), and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Most work will take place indoors, but travel between locations in various weather conditions may be required.
