About the role

The Floor Technician performs scheduled floor care tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position also involves mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, arranging furniture, and generally cleaning furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care
• Institutional housekeeping experience is helpful
• Experience using floor-care equipment is helpful
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floor surfaces
• Buffs, waxes, strips, and top scrubs floors
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor
• Utilizes proper chemicals and equipment
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards; abides by safety rules
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and understands employee responsibilities
• Attends weekly in-services and complies with Patient Care Management Systems
• Ensures patient/resident safety
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned
