Cleanliness and Safety
- Cleans restrooms, floors & walls as needed.
- Cleans nonpatient areas such as corridors, lobbies, meeting rooms, elevators & waiting rooms.
- Dry & wet mop floors.
- Spot cleans walls, doors, ceilings, vents & light fixtures.
- Keeps trash cans in assigned areas pulled. Takes trash to compactor & properly disposes of red bag waste.
- Maintains paper towels & toilet tissue in assigned areas.
- Cleans glass in assigned areas.
- Changes needle boxes when level is ¾ full or as required.
- Wears safety glasses when pouring liquids in sink or hopper.
- Follows universal protection requirements.
- Places wet floor signs every 8 feet when mopping.
Equipment and Reporting
- Reports equipment problems to the manager.
- Reports any equipment issues or safety hazards to the manager.
- Responds to spills to prevent possible slips.
- Performs assigned work projects including carpet, window, wall, stairwell & elevator cleaning.
General Responsibilities
- Maintains ground area within a 5 feet perimeter of outside entrances.
- Maintains trash containers on Hospital grounds.
- Maintains proper safe handling of biohazard, infectious, & regular waste.
- Maintains department equipment & storage areas.
- Duty sheets completed & work completed as assigned.
- Assists with furniture moves & conference room set ups/tear downs.
- Other duties & shifts as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be able to problem solve & multi-task.
- Able to operate floor equipment, i.e. automatic scrubber, burnisher, large vacuum, buffer, carpet extractor, steam cleaner, backpack vacuum, wax applicator, etc.
