About the Role

The EVS Floor Care Technician works under the direction of EVS Management, providing cleaning services and tile/carpet floor maintenance while ensuring patient dignity and respect. This role involves adhering to infection control policies, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and handling chemicals and equipment properly.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms and discharge rooms promptly for incoming admissions.
• Maintain non-patient areas, offices, common areas, hallways, and restrooms.
• Handle chemicals properly and follow infection control policies and PPE use.
• Ensure patient rooms and hospital flooring are cleaned efficiently and safely.
• Maintain and report equipment issues, ensuring preventive maintenance is completed.
• Use the occurrence reporting system to report potential safety issues.
• Place proper signage for hazards like wet floors.
• Dust mop and wet mop tile floors nightly with approved cleaning solutions.
• Vacuum and pre-spot carpeted areas, paying attention to corners and edges.
• Damp dust all surfaces using approved germicidal detergents.
• Clean restrooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to procedures.
• Reposition furniture, turn off lights, and secure areas after cleaning.
• Maintain supply carts and store equipment properly.
• Report equipment damage and take it out of service as needed.
• Clean and organize equipment at the start and end of each shift.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience providing environmental services in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and converse in English required.
