About the role
East Carolina University (ECU) is a public, four‑year R1 research university in Greenville, NC, noted for its research activity, funding, doctoral output, and community engagement. The Campus Operations unit within the Administration and Finance Division supports all university real property—including buildings, infrastructure, and grounds—with approximately 500 employees and an annual budget exceeding $30 million. Responsibilities
- Perform floor cleaning and restoration services throughout assigned facilities.
- Strip and refinish floors.
- Clean, scrub, and maintain a variety of hard floor surfaces.
- Operate orbital scrubbers and other floor care equipment for scheduled and restorative maintenance.
- Perform carpet maintenance, including bonnet cleaning and extraction.
- Utilize various floor cleaning machines to support facility cleanliness and appearance.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work, complete assigned tasks, and ensure floor care services meet departmental standards.
Requirements
- Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- No license or certification required by statute or regulation.
- Preferred: Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

Pay
Recruitment range: $33,540 – $41,725 per year. Anticipated hiring range: $33,540 – $34,547 per year. Salary grade equivalency: NC01.
Schedule
Work schedule: Monday – Friday (may vary). Typical work hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (may vary).
