About the role

A Floor Technician is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and restoring various types of flooring in commercial, healthcare, or industrial settings. This role ensures floors are safe, sanitary, and visually well-maintained.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors regularly
• Operate floor care equipment such as buffers, burnishers, and auto scrubbers
• Strip, wax, seal, and polish floors
• Shampoo and maintain carpets
• Remove stains, spills, and debris promptly
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and safety guidelines
• Use and store cleaning chemicals safely
• Maintain equipment and report any repairs needed
• Place warning signs to prevent accidents (e.g., wet floor signs)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Experience with floor care equipment (helpful but often not required)
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently
• Strong attention to detail
• Physical stamina (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
