About the Role

The Floor Technician performs scheduled floor care tasks assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Duties include mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, arranging furniture, and general cleaning of furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all floor surfaces, including buffing, waxing, stripping, and top scrubbing floors.
• Extract and vacuum carpets as directed by the Supervisor.
• Utilize proper chemicals and equipment for floor care tasks.
• Report repair needs to the Supervisor or maintenance department.
• Request necessary supplies and equipment from the Supervisor.
• Identify and correct safety hazards while abiding by safety rules.
• Review and comply with Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention.
• Attend weekly in-services and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Ensure patient/resident safety at all times.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care.
• Institutional housekeeping experience is helpful.
• Experience using floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
