About the Role
Floor Staff team members are classified based on individual theatre needs and/or employee availability as either variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular, or full-time hourly employees. The primary responsibility is ensuring guests receive exceptional service. Floor Staff may be scheduled to work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher. Employees must act as representatives of Regal in a way consistent with the mission statement and policies, including regular attendance, handling emergency situations, performing general cleaning duties, and complying with the company dress code.
Responsibilities
- Box Office
- Operate POS system, handling cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, and redeemed discount tickets, passes, and coupons with accuracy.
- Upsell and suggestively sell Premium Viewing Experiences (3D, RPX, IMAX).
- Promote the Regal Crown Club program.
- Ensure tickets are sold in accordance with the MPAA rating system and company policy.
- Respond to phone calls and guest questions in alignment with guest service philosophy.
- Concession
- Operate POS system, handling cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, redeemed coupons, and concession stock inventory accurately.
- Promote the Regal Crown Club program.
- Operate, prepare, and clean all concession-related equipment.
- Upsell and suggestively sell concession items.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal food safety laws.
- Abide by all federal and state laws regarding breaks and/or meal periods.
- Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable. If assigned to sell/serve alcohol, you must be of legal age according to state or local laws.
- Read and understand training materials covering subjects such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
- Usher
- Tear tickets, collect and deposit stubs, and direct patrons to auditoriums.
- Inspect backpacks and packages when applicable.
- Manage crowd control and assist guests in finding seats.
- Enforce the MPAA rating system.
- Conduct in-theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, prevent film and content theft, and maintain a safe environment.
- Report problems, discrepancies, or unusual situations to management.
- Perform in-auditorium concession auxiliary sales as directed by management.
- Clean auditoriums after scheduled shows and maintain clean restrooms, lobby areas, hallways, and other theatre areas.
- Monitor the cleanliness and operation of theatre vending equipment.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience
- Completion of cast certification program as a cast member and as a box office cashier, or progress toward completion, is required.
- If assigned to sell/serve alcohol, complete any legally required state or local training and obtain the required certificate, as well as complete the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training.

- Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
