Floor Staff team members are classified based on individual theatre needs and/or employee availability. This is a seasonal role expected to last 3 months, with an opportunity to stay afterwards based on performance. The position is primarily nights, weekends, and holidays, with closing shifts extending past midnight on weekdays and past 1 or 2am on weekends.
Responsibilities
Floor Staff may be scheduled as an usher or at the concession stand. Essential duties include:
- Usher:
- Scanning tickets, collecting and depositing appropriate stubs, and directing patrons to their auditoriums.
- Inspecting backpacks and packages when applicable.
- Managing crowd control and assisting guests in finding seats in auditoriums.
- Enforcing the MPAA rating system.
- Conducting in-theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, watch for film and content theft, and maintain a safe environment.
- Reporting problems, discrepancies, or unusual situations to management.
- Performing in-auditorium concession auxiliary sales as directed by management.
- Cleaning auditoriums at the end of scheduled shows and maintaining clean restrooms, lobby areas, hallways, and other spaces.
- Monitoring the cleanliness and operation of theatre vending equipment.
- Assisting with all opening and closing duties as assigned by management.
- Concession:
- Operating POS systems, handling cash, credit cards, gift cards, and coupons, and managing concession stock inventory.
- Promoting the Regal Crown Club program.
- Operating, preparing, and cleaning all concession-related equipment.
- Upselling and suggestive selling.
- Complying with all local, state, and federal food safety laws.
- Adhering to federal and state laws regarding breaks and meal periods.
- Ensuring required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable (if assigned to sell/serve alcohol, you must be of legal age).
- Representing Regal in a manner consistent with the company’s mission and policies, including regular attendance and compliance with the company dress code.
- Handling emergency situations when called upon.
- Completing training on topics such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
Requirements
- Completion of cast certification program or progress toward completion.
- If assigned to sell/serve alcohol, completion of legally required state or local training and the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training.
- Good public speaking skills, effective listening, and clear communication.
- Ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately.
- Strong reasoning skills to identify problems, gather data, and reach evidence-based conclusions.
- Excellent communication with customers, co-workers, and management.
- Ability to establish goals, budget time, and set priorities.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- May occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Pay
$17.00 per hour.
