Floor Specialist/Custodian

Salary: $18.75–$19.75 per hour based on experience. Paid biweekly via direct deposit or paper check.

About the role

Perform cleaning tasks with minimal interruption to facility operations. Must pass a drug screening and federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Strip and wax floors
• Clean carpets
• Dust, mop, damp mop, and vacuum floors
• Clean restrooms (empty trash, clean toilets, urinals, sinks, fill dispensers, sweep, mop, wipe walls and partitions)
• Clean glass, stair rails, and walls in corridors and stairwells
• Wash lights and fixtures
• Notify supervisor when supplies are low or equipment problems arise
• Buff floors
• Operate designated types of commercial cleaning equipment
• Maintain personal neatness and comply with uniform regulations
• Attend in-service training as required
• Assist with snow removal as needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Work various shifts, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Ability to follow written or oral directions
• Physical ability to pick up and move objects up to 50 lbs; stoop, kneel, reach, climb, and handle equipment
• Capable of performing cleaning duties unsupervised
• Must pass drug screening and federal background check
• Government security clearance may be required

Qualifications

• No specific education or experience required; high school diploma preferred
• Training or experience in janitorial tasks preferred

• Willing and capable of learning to sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, lift, empty trash, clean bathrooms, and operate commercial cleaning equipment
