Floor Operator RE02 - C Shift (Days) - RVI Forest, MS

Shift: C-Shift (Days) • Starting pay: $20.40 per hour • Location: River Valley Ingredients, Forest, MS

About the role

The Floor Operator – Feather Side is responsible for visually inspecting all floor equipment and making adjustments when needed. This position monitors and operates all equipment in the feather room, including front-end loader, feather drag chain conveyor, metal detector, screens, numerous product conveyors, dryer, and batch hydrolyzers (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture
• Receive training as required
• Perform various positions as assigned
• Monitor and operate feather-room equipment
• Use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions
• Maintain a clean work area using soap and high-pressure hose
• Read and complete required logs
• Communicate with supervisor and co-workers via two-way radio
• Operate front-end loader or forklift after obtaining certification
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months’ work history with one employer within the past 12 months
• Preferred: 3 consecutive months of operator experience within the last 2 years
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, shovel, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, bend, stretch, reach, and work in extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and odors
• Willingness to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Rehire Criteria

• Former Tyson team members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days
• Not eligible for rehire if previously employed at Tyson three or more times
