Floor Manager
About the role
The Beverage Floor Manager at Beefbar New York will lead nightly dining room operations with a focus on wine, cocktails, guest engagement, and luxury service execution. This role combines elements of luxury floor leadership and beverage program management.
Responsibilities
Lead beverage-focused guest experiences with confidence and hospitality.
Maintain expert knowledge of wine, cocktails, spirits, champagne, sake, and premium beverage offerings.
Guide guests through beverage selections using a luxury hospitality approach.
Drive beverage sales through team coaching and direct guest engagement.
Collaborate on seasonal cocktail development and beverage updates.
Execute wine dinners, VIP tastings, brand activations, and special events.
Maintain beverage standards, training materials, and execution systems.
Lead nightly FOH operations with a strong, visible floor presence.
Ensure exceptional service standards across all guest touchpoints.
Manage reservations flow, VIP recognition, table pacing, and guest recovery situations.
Conduct pre-shift lineups focused on service priorities and beverage initiatives.
Coach and develop FOH staff in real time.
Uphold elevated standards of professionalism, appearance, and hospitality culture.
Oversee bar operations and beverage inventory.
Manage scheduling for bar staff.
Handle beverage ordering and vendor relationships.
Monitor beverage costs, sales performance, and check averages.
Support labor deployment and staffing optimization during service.
Ensure compliance with all NYC DOH and SLA regulations.
Aid in training initiatives and operational improvements.
Build relationships with repeat clientele, VIP guests, and industry professionals.
Personally oversee high-profile tables and guest experiences.
Handle guest feedback with professionalism and emotional intelligence.
Support Beefbar’s positioning as a premier luxury dining destination in Manhattan.
Qualifications
3+ years of management experience in a high-volume upscale, luxury, or fine dining restaurant or bar.
Strong knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beverage cost controls, and luxury beverage service.
Familiarity with inventory systems and ordering processes (Craftable and Restaurant365 preferred).
Proven ability to lead teams during high-pressure service.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
NYC DOH Food Protection Certificate & ServSafe Alcohol awareness training preferred.
Sommelier certification preferred but not required.
