About the role
Cleans various soft and hard-surface floors using electric and battery-powered equipment.
Maintains high standards of detail, cleanliness, sanitation, and freedom from hazards and infection control issues.
Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious fluids, chemical disinfecting, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform basic tasks related to own area (e.g., various cleaning tasks, movement of equipment and furniture, and floor care maintenance), under direct supervision.
- Perform basic tasks related to the movement of biohazardous waste for proper waste disposal and regular trash movement and removal to designated waste receptacles.
- Afford assistance in maintaining in good condition any personal protective equipment deemed appropriate for use through job hazard assessments.
- Provide support in maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and freedom from hazards and infections.
- Complete proper hard surface floor refinishing with meticulous attention to detail and consistency.
- Complete proper carpet cleaning and maintenance with meticulous attention to detail and consistency.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Consistently meet job expectations, adhere to policies, and deliver quality work while applying St. Jude values and principles.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- Experience in environmental services preferred.
- Understanding of environmental regulations, laws, and standards preferred.
- Basic knowledge of biohazardous and/or hazardous waste management preferred.
- Hard Surface and Carpet Care experience preferred.
