Floor Care Technician

About the role

This position provides regular cleaning of carpeted and tile floors in a large office complex, as well as bathroom sanitizing. The role also includes performing spot cleaning as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular cleaning of carpeted and tile floors in a large office complex
• Follow a set rotation of cleaning various areas of an 800,000+ square foot office complex using carpet extractors, buffers, bathroom sanitizing equipment and other specialty equipment
• Perform spot cleaning as needed
• Perform other work as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least six months of experience working with various equipment, performing floor care work including extracting and bonneting carpets, buffing tile floors, stripping and waxing tile floors and spot cleaning carpet
• Two years or more of experience in the custodial field preferred
• Or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Highly motivated and energetic
• Strong customer service skills are required
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications

• Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required
• Records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months
• Out-of-state records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview
• Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date

Shift: 25 hours/week
