Floor Care Specialist

About the role

Responsible for the floor care of all resilient flooring and carpet throughout the hospital. Performs general Hospitality Associate and Environmental Services I duties when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate floor equipment including vacuums, burnishers, scrubbers, wet vacs, carpet extractors, and imops.
• Perform floor procedures such as dust mopping, mopping, stripping, applying floor finish, and burnishing.
• Use and maintain knowledge of floor chemicals and pads for daily maintenance, burnishing, and stripping.
• Place proper signage for hazards (e.g., wet floor warnings) in appropriate locations.
• Handle chemicals safely and follow infection control policies and proper PPE use.
• Identify and report mechanical issues with floor equipment.
• Clean and maintain flooring in patient and non-patient areas, offices, common areas, hallways, and restrooms to a high standard.
• Promote consistent, positive patient interactions to advance unparalleled patient service.
• Maintain a daily, weekly, and monthly floor maintenance schedule.
• Clean and care for all floor equipment.

Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience in the care and maintenance of resilient floors.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
