Floor Care Associate

Provides and maintains a clean and sanitary environment by ensuring all floor surfaces and restrooms are properly maintained. Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Keeping sales floor, liquor store, offices, breakrooms, training rooms, and restrooms orderly and free from safety hazards (70%)
• Operating floor care and department equipment and using associated tools and chemicals
• Sweeping and/or vacuuming mats and rugs and returning to original location
• Removing spots from carpet
• Disposing of trash and performing restroom deep cleaning
• Creating an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated to help build and retain customer confidence and loyalty (15%)
• Delivering daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for clean and sanitary stores
• Offering customers assistance in finding or suggesting product
• Ensuring company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained (15%)
• Adhering to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) & Country of Origin Labeling (COOL), and Department of Agriculture (DOA)
• Executing all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner while ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access
• Reinforcing safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting and identifying unsafe conditions to report to store management
• Notifying management of customer or employee accidents
• Reporting all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud
• Ensuring adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations
• Cultivating a culture of safety within the store
• Ensuring self and all associates are working safely and have received necessary safety training
• Ensuring Hazardous Assessments are posted for associate reference and that Personal Protective Equipment is available and utilized by all associates executing tasks within the department, as required
• Ensuring equipment is in good repair; reporting and assisting with remediation (ex. lock out/tag out of equipment) of safety hazards within the department

Qualifications

The qualifications for this role include:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
• Strong customer service skills
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills

Skills

The skills required for this role include:

• Ability to stand or walk on various types of flooring
• Manual dexterity
• Ability to talk, see, hear, smell, and perform repetitive movements with both hands and/or both feet
• Ability to reach at waist level or overhead, carry, push, or lift various loads up to 50 lbs

Working Conditions

The working conditions for this role include:

• Working in indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid working conditions
• Exposure to loud noise, skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes, and sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, and other toxins
• Exposure to sharp objects and hazardous equipment
