Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the mission and goals of Community Progress Council and Early Head Start/Head Start of York County.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment while supervising and caring for children.
- Aid in daily routines such as diapering, toileting, handwashing, meals, and classroom transitions.
- Observe, document, and support children's developmental progress.
- Assist teachers with developmental assessments, lesson preparation, and classroom documentation.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness through daily sanitizing, laundry, and organization.
- Accurately complete daily logs and other required records.
- Provide classroom coverage during staff breaks and support overall program operations.
- Collaborate with staff to promote positive outcomes for children and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, Elementary Education, or a related field with one year of preschool experience preferred. Associate degree candidates in these fields may also be considered.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety procedures, policies, and instructional materials.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with families, staff, and community partners.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license required.
- Ability to communicate in clients' preferred language whenever possible.
- Basic math skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based systems preferred.
- Commitment to providing a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.
