About the role
As a Floating Senior Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the functionality, safety, and appeal of multiple residential communities throughout the Boston, MA region, including communities in Chelsea, Peabody, Lawrence, Woburn, South Walpole, Milford, and Andover. Travel throughout the region is supported by a monthly auto allowance.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair issues related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structures, and appliances.
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the property, maintain amenities, and respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Supervise duties and outside contractors in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Cook up coordination of move-ins and move-outs.
- Aid in safety meetings and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Report potential liabilities and ensure property compliance.
- Maintain inventory and assist in purchasing materials and supplies.
- Participate in resident functions and assist with posting notices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- HVAC-EPA (Type II) or EPA Universal license is required.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license is required.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in property maintenance or a related field.
- Experience in supervising maintenance staff and contractors preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliances.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- General computer skills including operating a mobile device.
- Superior customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations.
- Ability to be on-call for after-hours emergencies.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays.
