Job Duties
- Fulfills the Kinney Standard of Practice for prescription dispensing and patient counseling
- Completes quality assurance steps to ensure accurate prescription dispensing
- Reports dispensing incidents promptly according to company guidelines
- Complies with State and Federal guidelines governing pharmacy practice
- Submits, resubmits, and collects third-party claims
- Manages and balances pharmacy inventory to optimize stock levels
- Transmits, processes, and receives orders from Kinney Warehouse and other suppliers
- Checks for out-of-date medications and processes returns
- Maintains prescription files and other records in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Utilizes pharmacy technology to maximize its benefits and extend its lifespan
- Maintains high standards of customer service
- Enforces loss prevention policies and reports deviations
- Affords assistance in implementing corporate pharmacy marketing and promotional programs
- Maintains a clean and professional pharmacy environment
- Maintains professional relationships with healthcare professionals
- Stays informed about developments in pharmacy and healthcare fields and applies them to practice
- Promotes confidentiality of patient information
- Facilitates communication between pharmacy and professional staff
- Supports meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within those guidelines
- Trains and develops pharmacy department personnel, including using the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program
- Interacts with auditors and outside agencies as needed
- Completes mandatory and regulatory training programs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field
- Current license to practice pharmacy in the relevant state
- Experience in pharmacy operations and quality assurance
- Strong organizational and technical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
- Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology
