Floating Pharmacist

Job Duties

• Fulfills the Kinney Standard of Practice for prescription dispensing and patient counseling
• Completes quality assurance steps to ensure accurate prescription dispensing
• Reports dispensing incidents promptly according to company guidelines
• Complies with State and Federal guidelines governing pharmacy practice
• Submits, resubmits, and collects third-party claims
• Manages and balances pharmacy inventory to optimize stock levels
• Transmits, processes, and receives orders from Kinney Warehouse and other suppliers
• Checks for out-of-date medications and processes returns
• Maintains prescription files and other records in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Utilizes pharmacy technology to maximize its benefits and extend its lifespan
• Maintains high standards of customer service
• Enforces loss prevention policies and reports deviations
• Affords assistance in implementing corporate pharmacy marketing and promotional programs
• Maintains a clean and professional pharmacy environment
• Maintains professional relationships with healthcare professionals
• Stays informed about developments in pharmacy and healthcare fields and applies them to practice
• Promotes confidentiality of patient information
• Facilitates communication between pharmacy and professional staff
• Supports meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within those guidelines
• Trains and develops pharmacy department personnel, including using the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program
• Interacts with auditors and outside agencies as needed
• Completes mandatory and regulatory training programs
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field
• Current license to practice pharmacy in the relevant state
• Experience in pharmacy operations and quality assurance
• Strong organizational and technical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
• Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology
