Floating Night Custodian - CL1912

About the role

The Night Custodian is an important member of the school staff, responsible for maintaining and improving the physical environment in which learning takes place. This role requires both following directions from the Property Services Supervisor and Principal, and proactively identifying and addressing needs without specific direction.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the school’s physical environment.
• Assist the Property Services Supervisor and Principal as directed.
• Supervise custodial staff of the assigned facility.
• Perform basic electrical repair and maintenance, carpentry, and ground maintenance.
• Manually lift up to 60 pounds when required.
• Enhance skills and job performance through continuous career improvement.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a background check.
• Current TB test on file.
• Reliable transportation and means of communication.

Qualifications

• Experience as a school custodian or equivalent custodial service in other institutions or firms is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in basic techniques of electrical repair, carpentry, and ground maintenance.
