About the Role

Floating General Managers are responsible for the overall operations of the store they are assigned to in the absence of a permanent General Manager or partner with a General Manager to assist in store operations. This includes accounting, marketing, customer service, human resources, and food service. They manage, assist, and direct the store team in their duties as required by company policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in customer service, management, and food service responsibilities, with hands-on involvement in daily operations.
• Partners with the FiveStar team to provide customers with service as outlined by company policies and procedures.
• Ensures timely and thorough training of the store team.
• Effectively addresses issues at the store level to assure long-term problem resolution.
• Educates the store team and follows up on policies and communications.
• Handles merchandising and ensures adequate inventory levels (evaluates displays, pricing, promotional signage, and out-of-stock items).
• Practices and promotes the FiveStar treatment (friendly atmosphere, meeting customer needs, suggestive selling).
• Ensures inventory control methods are in place, equipment is in good condition, adequate staffing, labor budget adherence, timely completion of accounting and paperwork tasks, and safety and robbery prevention guidelines.
• Oversees food operations, evaluating the appearance of food service areas, food quality, tracking, promotions, signage, and following food service guidelines.
• Reviews P&L statements and implements changes to improve store performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of retail management experience or equivalent educational background.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude.
• Team player, customer-focused, honest, hardworking, and excellent attendance.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work on different shifts (a.m., p.m., overnight), weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to travel to various FiveStar locations as assigned (typically day travel only).
• Daily standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, climbing, walking, lifting (up to 55 lbs.), working in cold indoor environments (35 degrees or less), and food service preparation.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal weather conditions.
