About the role

Floating Assistant Managers partner with the General Manager to manage store operations in the absence of a permanent Assistant Manager. This includes accounting, marketing, customer service, human resources, and food service responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Customer service, management, and food service responsibilities
• Hands-on in daily operations
• Partner with FiveStar team to provide customers with service
• Assist in timely and thorough training of store team
• Avoidance of store issues through effective and long-term problem resolution
• Merchandising and ensuring adequate inventory levels
• Promoting the FiveStar treatment (friendly atmosphere, customer’s needs met, suggestive selling)
• Ensuring inventory control methods are in place, equipment is in good condition, adequate staffing, following labor budget, completing accounting and paperwork tasks timely, and safety and robbery prevention guidelines in place
• Assisting in oversight of food operation, evaluating appearance of food service areas, food quality, tracking, promotions, signage, and following food service guidelines
• Responsible for store operations in the absence of the General Manager
• Learns and understands P&L statements

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of retail management experience and/or equivalent education
• Valid driver’s license
• At least 18 years old
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude
• Team player, customer focused, honest, hardworking, and excellent attendance
• Basic Computer Skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work on different shifts (a.m., p.m., overnight), weekends, and holidays
• Daily standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, climbing, walking, lifting (up to 55 lbs.)
• Working in cold indoor environments (35 degrees or less)
• Working in varying seasonal weather conditions
