Originally specializing in the treatment of cancer and blood conditions, we now provide medical oncology and hematology, radiation oncology, rheumatology, and urology services.

About the role

This position is one day a week in Sandpoint with additional days at our CDA & Post Falls clinic. The role offers 25-23 hours per week with meaningful advancement opportunities in a flexible and stimulating work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients, collecting vital signs, specimens, administering shots, and carrying out orders (e.g., labs, biopsies, referrals).
  • Assisting with patient intake forms, including social and family history, medication list, review of systems, and preventative measures.
  • Preparing patient charts and reviewing imaging, labs, pathology, and other reports to ensure all patient records are current.
  • Scheduling follow-up appointments with patients, prior-authorization procedures, and hospital admissions.
  • Returning phone calls within 24 to 48 hours of receipt.
  • Monitoring patient progress and evaluating follow-up actions required to meet patients’ needs by providing quality care throughout the patient experience.
  • Evaluating documents and distributing applicable clinical correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Completing phlebotomy, routine or specialty blood draws, handling of applicable specimen processing, and quality controls.
  • Performing EKG testing per provider orders.
  • Performing medical refill requests and helping triage patient calls along with managing patient referrals to hospitals or other ambulatory facilities.
  • Ensuring exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients.
  • Assisting providers with patient exams and procedures as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • CMA certificate or equivalent experience and willingness to earn CMA certification required.
  • Three years of experience as a medical assistant or related role preferred.
  • Medical oncology terminology strongly preferred.
  • CPR/BLS certification required upon hire.

  • Ability to multi-task and anticipate needs of providers.
  • Proficient in EKG, venipuncture, and managing lab work and genetic testing (a plus).

Pay

Starting at $22/hour and up, depending on experience.
