Float Certified Medical Assistant
Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC) offers comprehensive, community-based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations. CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care.
About the role
We’re looking for a compassionate, motivated Float Certified Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care team. In this role, you’ll be an essential part of a collaborative care environment, supporting providers, engaging directly with patients, and helping ensure every visit is smooth, efficient, and positive. This role involves traveling between our four Community Health Center locations—Asbury Park, Red Bank, Freehold, and Keyport—to support consistent, compassionate care for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
- Assists provider with patient workflow and maintaining clinical records
- Executes order and performs related duties as ordered according to standard operating procedure
- Maintains laboratory proficiency and required log books and records
- Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies and referrals
- Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
- Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
- Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school
- 6 month+ of supervised medical assistant experience preferred
- Experience in EKG and phlebotomy
- CPR certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s license and auto insurance
Working Conditions / Physical Demand
Working indoors with telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, printer, centrifuge, electric exam table, glucometer, nebulizer, needles/syringes, oxygen equipment, personal automobile, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, thermometer, venipuncture equipment, wheelchair.
Pay
In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the compensation range for this position is USD $16.00 to USD $24.00. When determining an offer, VNA Health Group considers factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions.
