Flight Software Engineering Intern - Fall 2026
About The Role
As a Flight Software Intern, you will support the design and implementation of mission systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft. You will work with the A-GRA (OMS/UCI) framework to help develop interoperable systems and messaging architectures.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of systems using A-GRA (OMS/UCI) for uncrewed high-speed aircraft
- Assist in developing and integrating messaging systems that enable communication between mission subsystems
- Work with messaging standards, protocols, and APIs to support system interoperability
- Collaborate with engineering teams to test, validate, and refine mission system interfaces and integrations
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Entry level experience of C++, C, or other embedded programming languages
- Experience with working with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry PIs, arduinos, STM32s)
- Strong understanding of engineering first principles
- Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
- Interest in mission systems, autonomy, or aerospace systems integration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- GPA of 3.0 or above

Pay
The hourly rate listed for this internship is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on degree level.
Schedule
Fall: Around 16 weeks (August - December)
