Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
  • Perform daily base checks, including narcotic counts.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintaining thorough patient care documentation.
  • Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
  • Use and maintain all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Interact positively with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
  • Function as a medical flight member.
  • Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation.
  • Aid in pre-mission liftoff checklist and assist the pilot as needed, such as radio, navigational, and visual observation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards to ensure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting required.
  • Flight Experience Preferred.
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
  • Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C), required within 24 months from date of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Qualifications

  • Education: Preferred but not required.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
  • Ability to function as a medical flight member.
  • Ability to attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation.
  • Ability to assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and provide pilot assistance.
  • Ability to conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Ability to fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director.

Benefits

  • Annual area stipend of $25,500.
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus.
  • $5,000 relocation assistance available if living outside of the greater Klamath Falls, OR area.

Pay

  • Starting range is $21.34-$40.99 per hour, dependent on experience.

Schedule

  • Two 24-hour shifts per week.

Company Paid

  • Crew housing while on shift.
