Flight Nurse (RN) - Critical Care Transport (NIGHTS)

About the role

Nemours is seeking a Registered Nurse (Critical Care Transport) for a full-time position, rotating 3 12-hour shifts per week, with potential for flexible hours. The position is based in Orlando, Florida, and offers tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 annually and relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

• Implement the patient care delivery model for the patient and their family.
• Utilize policies, procedures, guidelines, and reliable methods to make clinical practice decisions independently.
• Collect and interpret complex patient data with clinical events to make clinical decisions.
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration and seek expert consultation.
• Demonstrate knowledge seeking behaviors and identify clinical questions.
• Create a safe, compassionate, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and associates.
• Promote comfort and healing and prevent unnecessary suffering with vigilance, engagement, and responsiveness.
• Advocate on behalf of patients, families, and associates while promoting adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Facilitate learning and identify areas of educational needs for patients, families, associates, and the community.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Active Florida or multi-state RN license required.
• Minimum of three years critical care experience, including experience in ED, ICU, NICU, or CICU.
• ACLS and Pediatric Fundamental of Critical Care Support required within one year of hire.
• TNCC, ENPC, or higher course, and Advanced Trauma for Nurse (ATCN) preferred.
• Air Medical Crew Core Curriculum Course (AMCC) within orientation.
• STABLE within first six months of hire.
• NICU RN experience required, with a minimum of 2000 hours.
• Following courses must be completed prior to employment start date.
• Valid American Heart Association BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.

Qualifications

Must possess a strong commitment to patient and family-centered care, cultural competency, and ethical practice. Must be able to work flexible hours and rotate 3 12-hour shifts per week.

Skills

Strong clinical judgment, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills are essential. Experience with air medical transport and trauma care is preferred.
