Summary
Support field installations, investigations, and planning activities as necessary to meet company and client needs. Service as technical lead on special projects and new service offerings. Develop and implement installation procedures, support equipment, and documentation to facilitate the understanding and installation of FlexSteel pipe in all environments.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Diligent planning and communication
- Effective development of Field Operations procedures, processes, systems, and documentation
- Lead troubleshooting and issue resolution efforts for installation and operational anomalies
- Aid in the development and improvement of installation and handling equipment
- Assume ownership of projects and assignments to ensure efficient and effective completion
- Ensure conservative engineering practices relevant to the processes, designs, quality plans and safety considerations are implemented in accordance with company and statutory requirements
- Modeling and design of field equipment and installation scenarios
- Provide technical support to other functional groups and clients when needed
- High level of computer literacy desired
- Attend client meetings as company technical representative
- Travel as necessary to support field operations, customer meetings, and supplier evaluations
- Ensure a "Safety First" attitude is emphasized in all activities and communications
Qualifications
- Highly motivated individual able to drive actions to completion with minimal oversight
- High technical ability required including: read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, drawings, regulatory documents
- Write professional quality technical reports
- Respond, as a technical expert, to technical questions from colleagues, management and designers
- Communicate design improvements and discrepancies to designers and other engineers
- Effectively operate within a dynamic, multi-tasking team environment
- Aptitude to learn new design tools to broaden experience
- Ability to effectively present information and communicate at all levels in a constructive manner
- Must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical or Civil (Structural) Engineering, plus three to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Pipeline and/or Petroleum production system offshore construction experience
- Understanding of computer systems as they relate to technical documentation, system modeling, equipment design, data analysis, and file maintenance
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including fabrication, machining, and various mechanical systems
- SolidWorks experience preferred
- Registration as a Professional Engineer preferred
Physical Demands
- Expect 30%+ travel
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and talk or hear
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Domestic and International travel as required

Typical work environment may include any or all of the following:
- Office environment
- Global pipeline construction environments
- Fabrication/manufacturing environment
- Various outdoor environments where exposed to the elements (sun, wind, rain, snow, etc.)
- Activities that involve high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, moving machinery, excessive noise and working at elevations
