Flexo Press Operator or Lead

Responsibilities

• Operate printing press
• Ensure print design conforms to job jacket information
• Responsible for print sample retention
• Notify Supervisor/Lead Person or Quality Assurance Technician of non‑conformities
• Ensure proper packaging and labeling of work‑in‑process and/or finished product
• Ensure raw materials have been approved for use
• Ensure all bench‑top test and measuring equipment are properly calibrated
• Identify and control non‑conforming material
• Perform set‑up and clean‑up of the machine
• Follow all applicable instructions relative to food safety and the SQF Food Safety Management System, including employee GMPs
• Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate actions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior operation of same or similar equipment preferred
• Ability to climb stairs, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and squat
• Capable of walking or standing on concrete floors for most of the shift
• Lifting is minimal, occasionally up to 70 lbs
• Exposure to inks, coatings, and solvents
• Good and reliable attendance
• Shift formats (12 hours, days, nights) with overtime based on business need
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar

Skills

• Prior press operating experience (flexographic press experience is a plus)
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable and diligent work ethic
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
