Flexible Shift Production Supervisor

About the role

The Flexible Shift Production Supervisor at Ducommun is responsible for ensuring the production line meets internal and external customer satisfaction regarding order fulfillment. This involves balancing and aligning resources to deliver products that meet quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the production line delivers internal and external customer satisfaction regarding order fulfillment.
• Balances and aligns resources to deliver product to meet quality, schedule and cost objectives.
• Coordinates and schedules the production line.
• Works with Manufacturing Engineering to identify, develop and implement equipment, processes, procedures and methods to support production line goals and objectives.
• Manages all production line functions and resources to meet quality, cost and schedule.
• Optimizes human and equipment resources to achieve targeted efficiencies.
• Establishes, measures and maintains production line quality targets.
• Identifies and implements Lean manufacturing principles to continually improve operational performance.
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams to develop appropriate approach for production line planning to support customer needs.
• Evaluates capacity and scheduling opportunities and coordinates with planning/scheduling functions to align the production line with customer needs and overall operations.
• Provides input and feedback to effective scheduling of work through assembly operations; taking advantage of operational capacity of the business.
• Identifies processes, methods and equipment to maximize production line performance.
• Helps determine methods to best utilize production capability by acting as a liaison with engineering personnel in releasing new products and providing guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements.
• Maintains time and attendance for assigned department.
• Provides performance feedback, including completion of periodic reviews, coaching and disciplinary action, as needed or required.
• Ensures required training has been received and recommends follow-up training, as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred in relevant field
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
• 2 years of mechanical assembly experience preferred
• Intermediate level of computer skills in email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Microsoft Project and MRP/ERP
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in electronics manufacturing
