Flex Special Education Teacher - IDEA Tarrant County Region (26-27)
Role Mission
The IDEA Flex Special Education Teachers are full-time staff hired by IDEA Public Schools to fill immediate teaching roles until a permanent position becomes available. These teachers are assigned to a "home-campus" where they fulfill various educator responsibilities and are eligible for permanent placement upon a vacancy.
Compensation
The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $63,500. Additional stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership range from $500 to $4,000. Hourly compensation is provided for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned. Comprehensive benefits include a base medical plan, tuition reimbursement, employer-paid mental/behavioral health, and a 403(b) plan.
Service Record Requirement
Candidates must submit official electronic service records from previous educational employers to validate professional experience and determine creditable years of service and compensation.
What You Bring
- Competencies: Strong knowledge of core academic subjects, ability to instruct students, organize and communicate effectively, adapt to diverse situations, facilitate Admission, Review and Dismissal meetings, and engage in family communication.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution, experience in a Special Education classroom, valid Texas state certification in Special Education.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of curriculum and instruction, ability to implement IEPs, assess students, and manage student behavior.
What You’ll Do
- Responsibilities: Adapt lessons, develop and implement IEPs, assess and track student progress, teach small groups, collect and analyze data, communicate student progress, facilitate technology use, implement behavior management systems, and foster a positive learning environment.
- Additional Responsibilities: After-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed.
