About the role

The Flex Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

Responsibilities

  • Report alarms in accordance with client requirements, and monitor cameras.
  • Greet vendors, customers, residents, client employees, client, and aid as needed.
  • Conduct internal patrol and/or external mobile patrol when needed to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, unauthorized persons, inspects grounds using appropriate equipment and protective gear.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor and direct persons who cause disruption to leave property.
  • Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage, and provides direction or information to others.
  • Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity to client, Company Management, or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the site.
  • Ensure all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accord with client standards.
  • Operate in a calm manner and direct persons who cause disruption to leave property.
  • Provide an atmosphere in which all customers, client employees, site visitors, client, and Management know their needs are being met.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
  • Able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
  • Willingness to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
  • Appropriate I9 Identifications to ensure ability to onboard.
  • Willingness to travel 25-30 miles to and from work.
  • Understands the nature of customer service and interactions with the public.
  • Intermediate computer/technology skills needed to ensure completion of daily activity reports, and logs via handheld devices, and ability to report alarms via telephone.
  • Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills to assist vendors, public, client, Site Supervisors, and Office Management.
  • Must be open to communication and feedback from client, Site Supervisor and Office Management.
  • Must be able to adhere to 15 minute, and lunch breaks.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment to ensure site/organizational goals are achieved daily.
  • Must be able to remain organized and professional.
  • Must be able to learn and adhere to security operations.
  • Must provide high quality customer service in-person, via radio, and over the telephone.
  • Must have a personal vehicle, Colorado Driver’s License, and a clean driving record due to required mobile patrol.
  • Must be able to obtain Colorado Springs Guard Card license and maintain it every year.
  • Must be able to attend in-person interview, and in-person orientation in Colorado Springs if hired.

Qualifications

  • Basic Requirements: 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma or GED required. Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus. Must be able to work independently.
