About the Role
This position involves performing safe, reliable, and cost-effective vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure fleet safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance within planned timeframes
- Conduct regulatory and company-required vehicle inspections
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, brake, and hydraulic systems
- Address vehicle write-ups and ensure timely repairs
- Utilize diagnostic software and electrical testing tools
- Complete documentation and follow safety and environmental regulations
- Develop proficiency in diagnostic software and electrical systems, including welding projects
Requirements
- Technical training in medium/heavy-duty trucks
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of fleet maintenance experience
- Certifications such as annual inspector, brake inspector, ASE, and HVAC (preferred)
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and electrical testing
- Knowledge of welding techniques
- Understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform manual tasks requiring dexterity
- Capacity to work in various environments, including outdoor conditions and confined spaces
Work Environment
The role involves outdoor work, exposure to various weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and occasional confined spaces. It requires physical activity such as climbing, bending, and lifting, and may include non-traditional hours and travel as needed.
