Fleet Technician C
The purpose of this role is to keep company fleet equipment in safe and reliable working condition.
- Performs preventive maintenance and inspections on all fleet equipment.
- Performs minor repairs to all fleet equipment as needed.
- Performs basic diagnostics and troubleshooting of diagnostic codes or symptoms of fault.
- Aids team members when needed.
- Documents repairs and parts used, providing a detailed account of repairs made in the fleet software.
- Works in a courteous and professional manner while representing the fleet shop.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- ASE certification/technical school certification or 0-2 years of related experience/technical school training required.
- Ability to diagnose and repair: diesel, gasoline, and propane fuel systems; air, hydraulic, and electric brake systems; vehicle HVAC; electrical systems; general vehicle; battery powered industrial equipment.
- Basic welding skills.
- Proficient knowledge and experience with tools and equipment.
- Able to operate and drive vehicles safely.
- Must be able to meet PBV driving qualifications.
- Ability to effectively use MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and diagnostic computer.
- Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
- Must have a good work ethic for daily physically and mentally challenging work.
- Must have their own set of mechanical tools sufficient for their level of experience.
- Enjoys working outside at times year-round when necessary.
- Must have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and advance to next level positions.
