Fleet Mechanics play a key role in the success of our business by ensuring the reliability of our fleet and supporting the safety of our Drivers. As a Fleet Mechanic at Pepsi Beverages North America (PBNA), you will work with world-class equipment, technology, and training in a fast-paced environment that offers task variety, ongoing skill development, and a strong team culture.

Responsibilities

• Work with a high degree of independence while performing preventative maintenance (PMs) and repairs
• Utilize leading-edge technology and programs, including PM using voice application, Noregon diagnostics, Uptake predictive analytics, and TAAS
• Leverage and grow your skills working on Pepsi's diverse fleet equipment, including automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), vans, forklifts, and alternative fuel applications (e.g., electric vehicles, CNG, B100)
• Perform advanced diagnostics across all OE platforms (Volvo, International, Freightliner, Maxon, electrical vehicles, Material Handling Equipment, and more)
• Perform high-level repairs, such as engine and driveline, after-treatment and emissions systems, and safety systems
• Diagnose failures, disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary
• Maintain documentation and records, including vehicle records and pre-trip checklists
• Answer service calls and support Pepsi's strong safety culture by adhering to all safety standards and procedures
• Be part of the team that maintains one of the largest fleets in North America

Requirements

• Must provide your own basic hand tools; diagnostic, ergonomic, and high-tech equipment will be provided
• Physical requirements include lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, climbing, and manipulating/handling objects (with or without accommodation)
• At least 18 years of age
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds (with or without accommodation)
• Must be able to pass a Forklift Driving Skills test (if applicable)
• Experience or training involving hydraulic and air brake systems
• Experience performing after-treatment and emissions repairs (e.g., Class 6-8 diesel)
• Experience performing driveline repairs (e.g., Class 6-8 diesel)
• Experience using diagnostic platforms (e.g., Noregon, Snap-on, Nexiq, Altel)

Qualifications

Helpful experience includes:

• Removing and replacing mounted wheels to torque specifications
• Utilizing diagnostic troubleshooting codes
• Parts management and inventory controls
• Working under limited supervision
• Using shop tools (engine hoists, welding, changing tires, small tools)
• Preventative maintenance programs and activities (oil changes, documentation, tracking miles/hours, identifying defects)
• Working with computers (iPad, desktop, handheld, diagnostics)
• Repairing forklifts (propane fuel, electrical, battery, hydraulic systems, pallet jacks)
• Working with manufacturing standard manuals (OEM support tools, current standards, electronic modules)
• Repairing heavy-duty equipment (Class 8, 7, 6, and medium-duty trucks, brakes, tires, engines, liftgates, thermo king heater/refer units)
• Gas and/or diesel automotive repair
• Performing engine repairs (Class 6-8 diesel)
• Performing safety systems repairs
• Brakes Certification
• ASE Electrical, Heavy Duty, Suspension, or AC Certification (or MACS/Military equivalent)
• Driving trucks requiring a Class A or B CDL (road testing, driving in/out of repair shop)
• Repairing light trucks (EV, gas-diesel, vans, support vehicles)
• Shift work (on-call, 24/7 availability, 2nd/3rd shift, flexible work weeks)
• Hotwork/Welding Certification or welding experience
