Duties And Responsibilities

• Assume specific, delegated responsibilities concerning all supervision and management aspects of a unit within the Juvenile Probation Intake Court Unit.
• Supervise and instruct staff engaged in providing services to offenders.
• Interpret Division and Departmental policies and procedures to the staff and plan and conduct training around and regarding policy and procedure.
• Cooperate and work effectively with representatives from the other areas of the court and criminal justice system.
• Establish standards for staff performance.
• Evaluate the ongoing performance of the staff and provide appropriate written and oral feedback.

The Ideal Candidate

• One of the following:
• A Master’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, or business, correctional, or public administration or equivalent and two years of full-time experience as a probation/parole officer, social worker, or supervisor in a correctional or residential treatment setting.
• A Bachelor’s degree in one of the above-cited fields, plus three years of the required experience.

Probation Experience

Candidates must have probation experience working with juveniles.

Selection Process
