Duties And Responsibilities
- Assume specific, delegated responsibilities concerning all supervision and management aspects of a unit within the Juvenile Probation Intake Court Unit.
- Supervise and instruct staff engaged in providing services to offenders.
- Interpret Division and Departmental policies and procedures to the staff and plan and conduct training around and regarding policy and procedure.
- Cooperate and work effectively with representatives from the other areas of the court and criminal justice system.
- Establish standards for staff performance.
- Evaluate the ongoing performance of the staff and provide appropriate written and oral feedback.
The Ideal Candidate
- One of the following:
- A Master’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral science, or business, correctional, or public administration or equivalent and two years of full-time experience as a probation/parole officer, social worker, or supervisor in a correctional or residential treatment setting.
- A Bachelor’s degree in one of the above-cited fields, plus three years of the required experience.
Probation Experience
Candidates must have probation experience working with juveniles.
