About the role
As Shop Service Manager, you'll lead maintenance operations across multiple shop locations, overseeing a team of skilled technicians while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant fleet maintenance. You'll play a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence, developing talent, managing shop performance, and creating an environment where employees and customers can count on exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of diesel technicians while reinforcing TCI's Core Values.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair operations to maximize fleet uptime.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Build lasting customer relationships by delivering exceptional service and resolving maintenance concerns.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and retain top-performing technicians.
- Manage shop budgets, labor productivity, inventory, and operating costs.
- Drive continuous improvement through safety meetings, performance coaching, and operational best practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of diesel technician experience.
- 5+ years of shop management or maintenance leadership experience.
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop employees, and drive operational performance.
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Solid computer proficiency and experience with maintenance systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is a plus.
