Fleet Mechanic Helper - North Platte, NE

About the role

Our busy fleet shop is looking for a mechanic helper to meet our demand. This role is for you if you like to service and repair vehicles and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose and repair automotive vehicles.
• Perform routine vehicle tune-ups and maintenance (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.).
• Perform routine trailer maintenance.
• Inspect and test drive vehicles for necessary adjustments, repairs & routine maintenances.

Requirements

• Follow the Safety handbook.
• Must be at least 22 years of age.
• Have basic tools.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles.
• Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift).
• Strong work ethic.
• Clean driving record.
• Conduct yourself as a professional with co-workers and the public.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Work overtime.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
