About the role
Fleet Mechanic — Diesel & Heavy-Duty — NETC Fleet Services
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on tow trucks, tractors, trailers, and support vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air system issues
- Service diesel and gasoline engines
- Handle brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs
- Conduct DOT inspections and keep the fleet compliant
- Respond to breakdowns and make emergency repairs when the call comes
- Keep accurate service and repair records
- Keep your shop and work areas clean and safe
Requirements
- 5+ years as a fleet, diesel, or heavy-duty mechanic preferred
- Hands-on experience with heavy-duty trucks or towing equipment a strong plus
- Sharp troubleshooting and diagnostic skills — you find the root cause, not just the symptom
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and inspections
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
