Fleet Manager – Equipment Services

About the role

Based at the Oakland Maintenance Facility in Oakland, California, the Fleet Manager reports directly to the Chief Mechanical Officer and serves as the agency's lead authority for fleet maintenance, technical compliance, reliability, and rolling stock performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee maintenance programs, inspection processes, quality assurance initiatives, and fleet reliability strategies for all rolling stock maintained and operated by SJRRC.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe, reliable, and regulatory compliant condition while maximizing fleet availability and State of Good Repair.
• Exercise independent judgment in evaluating contractor performance, identifying operational risks, developing corrective actions, and establishing technical standards and maintenance practices.
• Collaborate closely with the Equipment Services Manager, maintenance contractors, Joint Powers Authority partners, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to ensure successful execution of maintenance programs and long-term fleet objectives.
