Fleet Manager
Fleet Operations & Asset Management
Oversee lifecycle management, maintenance, and utilization of a large mixed fleet (light, medium, and heavy equipment).
Lead vehicle and equipment acquisition, spec'ing, upfitting, replacement planning, and disposal.
Drive preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
Leverage telematics and fleet systems (GeoTab, WEX, eFleet) to improve performance and visibility.
Compliance, Safety & Risk
Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations (FMCSA, DOT, CSA, OSHA, CARB, HOS, ELD).
Oversee inspections, emissions reporting, registration, titling, and permitting (including OS/OW).
Maintain driver qualification files and compliance programs (CDL, MVRs, medical cards, Clearinghouse, drug & alcohol).
Monitor safety metrics and CSA scores; implement corrective action plans.
Partner with Safety and Risk teams on accident response, claims, and reporting.
Financial & Vendor Management
Own and manage fleet operating and capital budgets.
Track and optimize costs across fuel, maintenance, insurance, and repairs.
Negotiate and manage vendor relationships (OEMs, dealers, repair shops, specialty vendors).
Oversee fuel card programs, including auditing, reporting, and fraud mitigation.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead, develop, and manage shop and equipment mechanics.
Cookordination with operations, dispatch, and field teams to ensure equipment readiness.
Support expansion into new states by establishing fleet infrastructure and compliance processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of fleet management or DOT compliance experience in a multi-site, multi-state environment.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, CSA, HOS, ELD, CARB, and drug & alcohol regulations.
- Experience managing mixed fleets, including heavy construction equipment ("yellow iron").
- Proficiency with fleet systems and telematics (GeoTab preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze data, and drive operational improvements.
Compensation
$100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
