About the role

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team in York, PA. This role involves performing inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of trucks and trailers to ensure they are in safe and efficient working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet trailers, including brakes, axles, suspensions, lights, and structural components.
• Conduct light maintenance on trucks.
• Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical trailer issues efficiently.
• Replace or repair tires, wheel hubs, landing gear, doors, and other trailer components as needed.
• Maintain accurate electronic records of work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs.
• Communicate effectively with fleet managers, drivers, and team members regarding maintenance needs and repair status.
• Provide daily updates to key stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry standards, safety protocols, and emerging technologies related to fleet maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training is a plus).
• Minimum three years of experience as a trailer mechanic or in a related field.
• Knowledge of trailer braking systems, suspensions, and electrical wiring.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Current DOT certified inspector.
